Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about importing vehicles from the US.

Getting Started

The process is simple: 1) Browse our inventory and select a vehicle, 2) Contact us via WhatsApp to discuss details, 3) We provide a complete cost quote, 4) You pay a deposit to secure the vehicle, 5) We handle the auction and shipping, 6) Your vehicle arrives at your destination port. The entire process typically takes 6-10 weeks.

We can help you import most types of vehicles including sedans, SUVs, trucks, vans, and motorcycles. The vehicles come from US salvage auctions, which means they may have some damage. We provide detailed photos and condition reports so you know exactly what you're getting.

Vehicle conditions vary. Each listing indicates whether the vehicle 'Runs and Drives' or is a 'Starts' or 'Stationary' unit. We provide damage descriptions and photos so you can assess the condition. Many vehicles need some repairs, which is why they're available at lower prices.

Yes! If you're looking for a specific make, model, or year that's not currently in our inventory, let us know. We can search upcoming auctions and notify you when matching vehicles become available.

Pricing & Payment

Our quotes include: vehicle purchase price, auction buyer fees, transportation to the US port, ocean shipping, marine insurance, and documentation fees. Import duties and local taxes at your destination are estimated separately as these vary by country and vehicle value.

No. We believe in complete transparency. The quote we provide includes all costs on our end. The only additional costs you may incur are destination-side fees like import duties, VAT, port handling, and local delivery – all of which we estimate upfront.

We accept bank wire transfers in USD. This is the most secure and cost-effective method for international transactions. We do not accept credit cards or PayPal for vehicle purchases.

Typically, we require a 10-20% deposit to secure a vehicle before the auction. The exact amount depends on the vehicle's value. The remaining balance is due after the auction is won, before shipping.

If we don't win the auction, your deposit is fully refundable. You can choose to have it returned or apply it toward another vehicle.

Shipping & Delivery

Ocean shipping typically takes 4-8 weeks depending on your destination. Nigeria (Lagos) is usually 4-5 weeks, Kenya (Mombasa) is 6-8 weeks, and South Africa (Durban) is 5-6 weeks. Add 1-2 weeks for the US-side process (auction, title, transport to port).

Vehicles are shipped via ocean freight. We use either RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) or container shipping depending on the destination and vehicle. RoRo is typically cheaper for running vehicles, while containers offer more protection and can accommodate non-running vehicles.

Yes, all vehicles are covered by marine insurance during transit. This protects against damage or total loss during shipping. The insurance is included in our quoted price.

Yes! Once your vehicle is shipped, we provide tracking information so you can monitor its journey. We also send regular updates via WhatsApp at key milestones.

You'll receive: Original US title, Bill of Sale, Bill of Lading, Export Certificate, and any other documents required for customs clearance at your destination.

Customs & Import

Import duties vary by country and vehicle type. For Nigeria, expect around 20% duty + 7.5% VAT. For Kenya, it's approximately 25% duty + 16% VAT. For South Africa, around 25% duty + 15% VAT. These are calculated on CIF value (cost + insurance + freight).

We provide all necessary export documentation. For destination customs clearance, we can recommend trusted clearing agents in major ports, or you can use your own. Additional fees for clearing agent services are not included in our quote.

Yes, many countries have age limits. Nigeria allows vehicles up to 15 years old. Kenya has no strict limit but charges higher duties for older vehicles. Regulations change, so we'll advise based on current rules at the time of your purchase.

Customs holds are usually due to documentation issues or inspection requirements. We ensure all our documentation is complete, which minimizes delays. If issues arise, we work with you and your clearing agent to resolve them quickly.

Vehicle Condition

A salvage title means the vehicle was declared a total loss by an insurance company, usually due to accident damage, theft recovery, flood, or other incidents. These vehicles can often be repaired and are available at significant discounts compared to clean-title vehicles.

Each listing includes: multiple photos from different angles, damage descriptions, odometer reading, whether it runs/drives, and key availability. We recommend reviewing all photos carefully. For high-value vehicles, third-party inspections may be available.

For vehicles at certain auction locations, we can arrange third-party inspections for an additional fee. This provides a detailed condition report beyond what's available in the listing. Contact us for availability.

Auction listings are provided by the auction house and we present them as-is. Occasionally, there may be discrepancies. We document the vehicle condition when we take possession and notify you of any significant differences.
